지구 북반구를 중심으로 5개의 강력한 열돔이 형성돼 북미, 유럽, 동북아 일대가 지난달 초부터 살인적인 폭염에 시달리고 있다고 워싱턴포스트(WP)는 20일(현지시간) 보도했다.
보도에 따르면 이 같은 열돔은 기상이변을 일으켜 각국 역대 최고기온을 갈아치우고 있다. 최근 북아메리카 서부와 시베리아 등지 잇단 산불·가뭄 피해, 독일 서부와 벨기에 등 서유럽 수해 등 원인으로 거론되기도 한다.
