Tiverton Woman Allegedly Stole Nearly $1 Million from Employers
NEW BEDFORD A Tiverton woman has been indicted for allegedly stealing just under $1 million from a New Bedford law firm where she worked, according to the Bristol County District Attorney s Office.
District Attorney Thomas Quinn III announced in a June 9 press release that 54-year-old Nadine Santos was indicted by a Bristol County Grand Jury on 14 counts of larceny over $1,200 after an investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit.
Santos was arraigned in Fall River Superior Court on May 19, with bail set at $3,000.
According to the release, the defendant worked as office manager at Sullivan, Williams & Quintin law firm in New Bedford from 2004 until she was fired in February 2020.
Newport Named Third-Best Beach Town in America by Parade Magazine
There are plenty of amazing beach towns right here on the SouthCoast, but according to one magazine, one of the best in America is just a short drive away.
Parade Magazine recently listed its top 50 beach and coastal towns across the country and Newport, Rhode Island landed at number three.
The magazine says Newport reigns supreme among coastal towns because of the scenic Cliff Walk, historic mansions and lots of local shopping and dining.

I definitely don t disagree that Newport has plenty to see and do, but their tiny paragraph about this town doesn t quite do it justice. I mean, they don t even mention the beaches.
Taunton Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred in that city early this morning. Police say a 33-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
