How long have you been in Worcester?
I grew up in Worcester over by St. Peter Marion. Now, I own a house in the Indian Lake neighborhood. I bought it about seven years ago. I work at Forest Grove, which is right down the hill from the lake. I met Carl Gomes two summers ago. He had an end-of-the-summer neighborhood block party. MILFORD Christina Larson was doing well in her career in restaurants when the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
In March, the 31-year-old Southbridge native found herself laid off from her job as a pastry chef where she oversaw four Bar Mezzana locations in Boston.
But Larson, now living in Wrentham, said the setback proved to be for the best.
As a supplement to her full-time job at the Boston restaurant, Larson had started a pop-up doughnut and coffee business called Basic Batch Donuts. The operation was open just once a month, on Saturdays, mainly for fun, Larson said.
And when Bar Mezzana s management called her back two months later to offer her job back, Larson declined.

CUMBERLAND – Cumberland High School Principal Adolfo Costa is one of three finalists in the search to replace Blackstone-Millville Regional High School Principal Michael Dudek.
Gina Flanagan, a former principal at two Massachusetts high schools, and Donna Zannelli, an associate principal at Southbridge High School and former assistant principal at Cumberland High, are the other two candidates.
A departure by Costa would leave Cumberland looking to find both a new superintendent and new high school principal in 2021.

PAXTON – Anna Maria College is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year and is marking the occasion with a slate of community events and programs, the school recently announced.
The celebration will culminate at the college’s annual Service and Success Gala, where the 2021 recipient of the Presidential Award, which recognizes alumni and supporters of the school, will be chosen.
“It speaks to the wisdom of the Sisters of St. Anne in establishing an institution that associates a quality education with social responsibility,” said Anna Maria President Mary Lou Retelle. “The challenges in today’s world and the recent pandemic particularly affirms the importance of service to community. It is more critical than ever to have a citizenry that is well-educated, ethically grounded and ready to serve and we especially honor those alumni working toward the public good.”
