No fewer than 108 Nigerian migrants stranded in Niger Republic have been received by the Nigerian government. It was learnt that the return facilitated by the Nigerian Mission in Niamey and the United Nations’ International Organisation for Migration (IOM), included 32 males, 29 females, 44 children and three infants. The South-West Zonal Coordinator, National Commission for Refugees Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), Mr Alexander Oturu, made this known on Tuesday, in Abuja.
Several communities in Lagos State have been ravaged by floods, which resulted from heavy downpours that swept away a commercial motorcyclist, more commonly called Okada rider and displaced hundreds of residents. SaharaReporters gathered that the motorcycle rider simply identified as Mr Abe, was swept away on Saturday after he reportedly failed to listen warnings from his colleagues not to ride along the Ile Epo Bus stop canals in the Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.
