An investigation is underway after a man with multiple felony warrants was shot and killed by police in suburban Calumet City on Tuesday.
According to authorities, the man was confronted by police in the 1600 block of Sibley Boulevard on Tuesday. The man then pulled out a weapon, and members of the US Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force fired, striking him.
The man was pronounced dead after the shooting. An officer suffered minor injuries, and was transported to a local hospital, according to police.
According to the US Marshals Service, the suspect in the case was a fugitive with multiple warrants, including an arrest warrant for a murder in the city of Chicago, an attempted murder warrant in Calumet City, and a home invasion in suburban Cook County.
