Lady Flames Finish Final Prep For Nationals At Last Chance Meet

The Lee women s track and field team took its final shot at reaching the NCAA D2 National Championships at the Lee Last Chance Meet from the Multi-Sport Complex on Saturday.

Celine Ritter recorded a time of 4:25.23 in the 1500-meter run and placed third in the event. Kristen Blevins dashed to a time a third-place finish in the 100 meter (11.86) and was seventh in the 200 meter (24.66).

Carissa Hall placed fourth in the triple jump with a school record mark of 11.87m.
Deborah Rubin wrapped up an impressive junior season with a third place showing in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.89m. Kendra Irvine set a school record in the pole vault at 3.56m. ....

Alan Connie Shamrock Invite Next Up for Liberty Track

During the time period typically associated with spring break, the Liberty men s and women s track & field teams will head to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Named for the former Coastal Carolina women s track & field/cross country coach, the meet will take place Friday and Saturday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
A total of 82 Liberty athletes are entered in the meet, which is scheduled to begin Friday at 10 a.m. with the men s hammer and women s javelin. Saturday s events will also get started at 10 a.m., with the men s discus first to begin.
