I m currently looking to get my foot in the door of the game industry and so I figured I d start here, I ve always enjoyed mods and modding communities and how some of these mods are made. I ve always wanted to be a part of a dedicated development team for games.
My only experiences in modding are solo projects with the Source Engine back in 2014, just little passion projects when I was younger. I ve never released them.

Valve has finally fixed a security vulnerability in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that could be used by hackers to gain remote control of a player s PC - an issue the company had reportedly known about for two years by the time its existence was publicised last week.
News of the exploit was circulated in a tweet by not-for-profit reverse-engineering group The Secret Club. It explained one of its members, Florian, had contacted Valve two years prior to report a remote code execution flaw which made it possible for a hacker to take over a target s PC by tricking them into accepting a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Steam invite. ....

Valve fix Steam security exploit after two years

Last week, hack-hunting group Secret Club revealed several exploits affecting some of Valve s games that could let hackers gain remote access to players PCs. The group claimed they d reported these exploits to Valve previously, but the company hadn t done anything about it - until now. Secret Club say Valve have fixed an exploit the company had supposedly known about for two years, which could ve allowed hackers to steal player data through Steam invites.
This type of hack called a remote code execution flaw . These allow hackers to run scripts on other players devices to gain full control of their system, which could then be used to nick data, wipe hard drives, or do whatever other harmful things hackers like doing with other peoples stuff. ....

Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) have an exploit that could allow hackers to take over the player’s computer, warns a cybersecurity researcher.
Motherboard reported that a researcher named Florian discovered the exploit, where hackers gain control by using a bug with the Steam ‘invite to play’ feature.
Once they gain control of the computer, the bug can also go on to infect their friends’ machines through the same method, it reported.
