Freight forwarder Dimerco Express Corp (中菲行) yesterday reported net profit of NT$2.31 billion (US$81.18 million) for last year, up 112 percent from a year earlier, on the back of rising freight rates. Earnings per share rose to NT$16.98, from NT$7.98 a year earlier, the company said in a statement. A surge in freight rates led Dimerco’s consolidated revenue to expand 70 percent year-on-year to NT$38.98 billion last year, with sea freight revenue advancing 137 percent to NT$16.2 billion and air cargo revenue increasing 47.5 percent to NT$21.2 billion, it said. Forwarders benefit from robust cargo demand By Kao Shih-ching / Staff reporter Freight forwarder Dimerco Express Corp (中菲行) yesterday reported a net profit of NT$300 million (US$10.7554 million) for the first quarter, up 207 percent from a year earlier, thanks in part to higher freight rates. Earnings per share (EPS) rose to NT$2.38, from NT$0.77 a year earlier, the company said in a statement. Three freight forwarders report growth By Kao Shih-ching / Staff reporter Taiwan’s three listed freight forwarders yesterday reported annual growth in first-quarter revenue as freight rates remain high amid rising demand. T3EX Global Holdings Corp (台驊國際投資控股) reported the largest increase, 133.16 percent to NT$5.89 billion (US$207.13 million), ahead of Dimerco Express Corp’s (中菲行) 66.4 percent growth to NT$6.89 billion and Soonest Express Co’s (捷迅) 35.69 percent expansion to NT$1.06 billion, data from the companies showed.
