The Mission of the State of Palestine in Ireland has criticised the ânon-transparentâ organisation of an event at Trinity College Dublin which saw its ambassador appear alongside the Ambassador to Israel. Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid of Palestine and Ophir Kariv of Israel both spoke last Monday at the event organised by Sonar Diplomacy, a non-profit which promotes multiculturalism and diplomacy. Sonor said it was the first time ambassadors from both nations took part in a joint forum. In a statement after the event the Palestinian Mission said the invitation issued to Palestinian Ambassador Dr Wahba Abdalmajid did not say she would be appearing alongside others. ....

But the library/jazz titan has hardly been forgotten. In fact, one of his most highly regarded but most elusive albums, Utopia, is only now getting its first-ever reissue. Longtime Brugnolini champions Sonor Music Editions have announced that they will be unearthing the hugely sought-after 1972 album for the very first time, with Utopia finally coming back to vinyl on June 28. With the record now being essentially impossible to find, it originally arrived via Bruno Nicolai s esteemed Gemelli label, and it s indeed a holy grail of a record. News broke this week that the Chet Baker collaborator passed away on Wednesday (April 14) in Rome, where he both lived and worked as a music teacher. Tommasi was 85. As a pianist, composer and arranger, Tommasi wore many hats during his many decades in music. Perhaps most loved work, though, is his classic 1970 giallo soundtrack Thomas a record that was reissued in 2017 by Tommasi champions Sonor Music Editions. ....
