nominee to be secretary of defense, that he doesn t want war with iran. look, that s not very surprising. the president has been very open about the fact that he s not looking for a conflict. he campaigned for america first and talked repeatedly about pulling troops from syria and afghanistan. so, it s not surprising he s not looking to dedicate a large footprint of u.s. military to something like iran. you know, then the big question becomes, you know, what does that mean for the u.s. military? they continue here to plan. they ve moved these large assets in. carrier strike group, bomber task force and now patriot battery moving towards the region. some of the elements are already in. it s all meant to be a deterrent. the u.s. military, we ve been hearing repeatedly from people here at the pentagon and forward in the region that they also are not looking for a war with iran. that all this movement of military might is really about deterring iran from doing something preemptively.
