Mali : Woman Gives Birth To Nine Children A on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 gave birth by Caesarean section to nine babies, two more than doctors had detected inside her crowded womb joining a small pantheon of mothers of nonuplets. The pregnancy of Halima Cisse, 25, has not only been fascinating, but attracted the attention of top Malian leaders. After a two-week medical stay at a hospital in the Malian capital Bamako, the doctors requested specialist care for the rare case. On instructions of the Interim President of Mali s Transitional Government, Bah Ndaw, she was flown to Morocco accompanied by a Malian doctor, where she was admitted in a clinic for treatment on March 30, said the ministry’s statement. Libya : Turkey Urged To Withdraw Troops Libya’s Foreign Minister, Najla al-Manqoush has called for the departure of f oreign forces and mercenaries from Libya as it heads toward elections later this year. On Monday, May 3, 2021, the top diplomat of the interim government urged Turkey to implement U.N. Security Council resolutions demanding the repatriation of more than 20,000 foreign fighters and mercenaries from Libya. Mozambique : SADC Mission Recommends 3,000 Troops Deployment The proposal will be tabled today to members of the security organ troika for validation. The technical assessment mission of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), has said it will propose the dispatching of military personnel to assist Mozambique combat armed groups targeting the country’s northern region. A report issued on April 27, 2021 by the technical mission states that the intervention force of 2,916 soldiers would include three light infantry battalions of 630 troops each, two special forces squadrons of 70 troops each; two attack helicopters; two armed helicopters; two surface patrol ships; one submarine; one maritime surveillance aircraft as well as other logistical support aircraft, equipment and personnel.
