CBN warns Nigerians as police nab fake investment agents

The Lagos State Police Command in a joint operation with the Edo State Command, have arrested the mastermind of a syndicate comprising over ten fraud groups impersonating the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), under the name “CBN Helping Hands Investment Scheme.”
The arrest of the head of the syndicate identified as Solomon Osiga Ezemede (operating with aliases: Musa Mukarat and Solomon Musa) along with his cohorts, in Auchi, Edo State, followed a formal report to the police by the CBN.
The CBN in a statement revealed that the group had impersonated management and staff of the bank and deceived some members of the public to invest money, with a promise to double the amount invested within 24 hours. ....

EFCC arrests seven suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibadan Zonal Office, has arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters in Ibadan.
This is contained in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mr Wilson Uwujaren on Friday in Ibadan, NAN reports.
Uwujaren said the suspects between 17 and 29 years were arrested on Friday morning at their hideout in Wisdom Estate located at Akobo area of Ibadan.
He further revealed that their arrest followed a series of intelligence on alleged criminal activities of the syndicate.
According to him, items recovered from the suspects include a Lexus RX350 SUV, laptops, different models of expensive iPhones and several documents. ....

Police burst syndicate impersonating CBN officials

The Police in Lagos, in a joint operation with the Edo State Command, have nabbed the mastermind behind the syndicate group impersonating the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
The syndicate, comprising over ten other fraud groups is said to be impersonating the Apex Bank under the name “CBN Helping Hands Investment Scheme, “to defraud unsuspecting members of the public”.
It was learnt that the recent arrest of the head of the syndicate, Solomon Osiga Ezemede (operating with aliases: Musa Mukarat and Solomon Musa) along with his cohorts, in Auchi, Edo State, followed a formal report to the police by the CBN, on the activities of the group. ....
