Students undertake cleanliness drive under 'Laudato Si' project-May 28

Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) in Kohima undertook a cleanliness drive at Sokhriezie Park, BOC under the ‘Laudato Si’ project DIMAPUR The class 12 students of Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHHS) in Kohima undertook a cleanliness drive at Sokhriezie Park, BOC, on May 27 under the ‘Laudato Si’ project. An update from the school stated that students and teachers under the guidance of its principal, Sr. Lucy Gangmei, enthusiastically participated in the project. It stated that Kenei Sekhose, convenor of the park management, interacted with the students and highlighted briefly about the park. Walkathon held to endorse participative elections ahead of assembly polls in Nagaland

Our Correspondent Kohima, Nov. 9 (EMN): In Nagaland, the voting percentage is “very high” in rural areas but “very low” in towns and urban areas during election, said Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kohima, Shanavas C on Wednesday, stressing on the need for participative polls. He said this in his introductory remarks during a walkathon organised on the theme ‘A Step for Participative Elections’ from Sokriezie Park near PHQ junction to Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kohima. The walkathon was held months ahead of the state Assembly elections due in the first quarter of next year, and also coincided with the special summary revision of electoral rolls, which will be published throughout the state. The DC also called for efforts to ensure clean electoral roll (e-roll), which includes enrolment of all eligible citizens and deletion, if needed. LFHSS students organise cleanliness drive

Our CorrespondentKohima, May 29 (EMN): A total 55 students of class 12 from Little Flower Higher Secondary School (LFHSS) along with seven teachers under the guidance of its principal, Sr. Lucy Gangmei, undertook a cleanliness drive at Sokhriezie Park, BOC in Kohima on May 28 under the ‘Laudato Si’ project. The cleanliness drive was also accompanied by representatives from Tsiituonuomia (T) Khel village council, T Khel youth organisation and T Khel students’ union. The students contributed potted plants and saplings to the park. It was informed that the main purpose of the drive was to practice some goals of the ‘Laudato Si: response to the cry of the earth, ecological education, emphasis on community involvement and participatory action etc.’ The ‘Laudato Si’ is a letter from Pope Francis to everyone on the planet urging all to protect the earth – our common home.
