Manipur witnessed large deficient rainfall with a deficiency of 61% followed by Mizoram (35%) and Tripura, Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh faced 22% deficient rainfalls each between June 1 and July 4
GUWAHATI: Heavy rain continued to lash several parts of the northeast and the condition is expected to prevail for the next three four days but on an average five northeastern states witnessed monsoon deficiencies. These states received poor rain since June 1.
In the last 24 hours, from 8.30am on Saturday to 8.30am on Sunday, Sohra (Cherrapunji) and Mawsynram in Meghalaya received extremely heavy rain measuring 31 cm and 28 cm respectively. Wiliamnagar in Meghalaya, too, experienced incessant rainfall measuring 16 cm during this period. In Assam, Beki-Mathanguri station received heavy rain measuring 5cm. Except Assam-Meghalaya Met-subdivision, the rest of the two Met-subdivisions which include Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Mizoram and Manipur in the northeast are facing deficit ....
