One year since the pandemic forced more Filipinos to try out online shopping, they have fully embraced e-commerce, and their online consumer behavior is evolving. This is one of the major findings of ShopBack, the leading pre-shopping portal in APAC.
The April 2020 Digital Statshot report of We Social and Hootsuite found that 64% of Filipino internet users reported spending more time on social media, while 23% of users shared that they are spending more time shopping online. As e-commerce acceptance continue to grow, digital payments have a huge potential for increased consumer acceptance.
ShopBack shared that there has been a significant increase in the number of consumers shifting to buying retail and essential goods online. To gain a better understanding of Filipino online shoppers, the brand commissioned a survey and found that with the rise of e-commerce and the acceleration to go digital, consumers have developed more value-conscious spend
