Race, Speech, & the University

To celebrate 50 years of inclusion at Princeton and commemorate the founding of Princeton's Third World Center (now Carl A. Fields Center) and Women's Center in 1971, this panel discussion will feature Nikole Hannah-Jones, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, founder of The 1619 Project, and professor at Howard University; Ulrich Baer, professor at NYU and author of the book "What Snowflakes Get Right: Free Speech, Truth, and Equality on Campus;" and Stefan Bradley, professor at Amherst College and author of "Upending the Ivory Tower: Civil Rights, Black Power, and the Ivy League."
The panelists' discussion will examine the necessity of recognizing our past, reconciliation, and universities' responsibility in addressing the harms of systematic and institutional racism, as well as the role of free speech.
