Initially there was a snip-it and the whole thing was released. and i want to see all the facts before they come in, but i say, could there any some other part to the story, and i don t think so and you don t think so. we would have heard it. if he had reason to believe the individual was armed or had just committed some sort of violent act, but all the information we have now is that this was a credit card fraud case and this individual was just picked out by someone who they were working with. and it just seems to be an overreaction. no other way to label it. i was reading an advance of your new book vigilance when the new york times had a piece of it on page one, talking about the spike of murder rates. there it is, murder rates rising sharply in many u.s. cities. it talks about more than 30 big cities across the country. people talking about a ferguson-effect that law enforcement now feels restrained. do you buy into a ferguson ....
Have exonerated the police if it showed a different scene. the move to body cameras is an important step to address the divisions we see in per says. jason do you agree to any of this? we had a camera in the garner case. that is not all the evidence in that case. only the grand jury has seen all of the evidence. i am reluctant to a group would has design all of the evidence and have only seen a snip it. both the prosecutor in new york and in new york have successfully prosecuted other cops in the past. the idea they cannot do this properly, again, it is something i will not assume. now we take a break. new challenges to the united states overseas from russia and from isis. as the terror threat grew president obama s policy to combat kept changing. ....
It s a talking point you ve been using for five days. well then talk to us. have the president talk to us. i want to play a snip-it for our audience. this is you on the house floor maybe an hour or two ago. take a listen. i would ask my friends on the minority side if obama care is so great, why does it have to be mandatory? let s make it voluntary. republicans happen to support many of the things in it. congressman i think that s a good idea. let s try it for a year. of course you do. you just said it an hour and a half ago. i agree with myself. is continuing to talk about obama care and continuing to use all your time on the floor, is that really the most effective use of time right now? well, you listened to me. i mean, you just ran the clip. but i think let s let the people choose for a year. but the people have chosen. if it s as great no, the ....
Essentially made up out of whole cloth. the only problem with a.c.o.r.n. and its voter registration is they were really good at it, and that helped democrats. you know what else a.c.o.r.n. did? really smart political organizing and really smart political strategy. they put things like raise the minimum wage proposal on the ballot in states with key elections. why is that important? first, raising the minimum wage is a nice thing do for poor people and also nice for the economy as a whole. second, when you ask people if they want to raise the minimum wage, people essentially unanimously scream yes. it almost always passes and it almost always passes by large margins. but third, raising the minimum wage is such a popular idea that there s some evidence it actually causes people to go out and vote who would not otherwise vote. it raises voter turnout, particularly among liberal voters, who then, since they re there anyway, are likely to also cast their votes for democratic politicians. i ....
Hours will tell a lot. the government s message was it was going to hit hard, it was going to hit fast, and hopefully you talked about the different models of trying to stop a protest this would be the nip-it-in-the-bud model to try and hit quickly. the crackdown only lasted about 20 minutes. and hope that the people here go back and retreat into their homes and don t do this again. that could happen. this is not a large population. it s not like egypt where you have huge masses that can sustain a protest movement for 18, 19, 20 days because you have shifts and people working and there s kind of a community solidarity in large urban slums like you see in cairo. this is a country that isn t used to this kind of thing. but that said, tomorrow there is a very volatile moment. the families of the victims are going to receive the bodies, the people who were killed in this crackdown that took place this morning bahrain time. so there is a potential flashpoint. will this problem go away ....
