Richard Medley, 89, of Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Friday, July 2, 2021. He was originally from Chicago, Illinois, and graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a Degree in Electrical Engineering. He designed numerous light fixtures for sports parks and other venues.
He met the love of his life, Charlotte, in Chicago and married in 1953. He was the worldâs greatest Dad to two children, beloved Grampy to two grandchildren and made numerous lifelong friends while living in Illinois and relocations to Pennsylvania and New York. He loved boating and enjoyed extensive travelling throughout the United States, the Caribbean, Europe and Tahiti before retiring to his beloved Smoky Mountains in 1997. After retirement he achieved his lifelong dreams cruising to additional countries in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Though he is gone from sight, he is now home with God.
Mildred âMickiâ Seacrest Bales passed away on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at the age of 95. Micki was born on Feb. 20, 1925 in Knoxville, Tennessee. On Sept. 14, 1947 she married Rubin Bales of Gatlinburg.
Micki worked alongside her husband Rubin at Town and Country Motel, which they built and managed together for forty years. She made dear friends with guests who came and visited yearly. Even though she never attended high school, she earned her GED and took accounting classes at the University of Tennessee.
Micki was also a devout Christian, whose beliefs were always enriched by her actions. Wherever she lived, she was a devoted churchgoer who relished being a part of her churchâs activities and charity. That giving spirit pushed her to volunteer at East Tennessee hospitals and work with hospice care while living in Florida. She also raised money for the American Heart Foundation for many years.
