Work on Mead Avenue Starts Monday to Last 6 Weeks
A new roadway is on the way. Lots of road work is happening around the city like it does every spring and summer. And this year is no different.
Yakima City crews will start a project on Monday that s expected to disrupt traffic for more than a month. The work on Mead Avenue will force the closure of the road from Fair Avenue to 18th Street for six weeks as crews tear out and replace the existing roadway. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, May 14.
Yakima city officials say while the section of Mead Avenue will be closed to traffic from Fair Avenue to 18th Street access to the area will still be available to homes and businesses in the project area. City official also say emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary. All the work will happen in two installments, ....

Ocean Automotive’s Yeovil Audi dealership emerged as the German premium car brand’s top franchised retailer of 2020 at its annual Q Power awards.
The Poole-based AM100 car retailer’s facility, on Mead Avenue, Houndstone Business Park, was named as Audi Centre of the Year as UK brand director, Andrew Doyle, presented a series of awards at a virtual event.

GREENWICH A long-debated new blight ordinance was approved Monday night by the Representative Town Meeting, a move that will put a new blight officer and a blight review board in place.
“The blight ordinance addresses dilapidated, blighted, rat-infested structures in a very compassionate manner, which will protect the health, safety and welfare of all of the residents of the town,” RTM District 4 member Samarpana Tamm said. “The needs of the blighted property owner are handled with special consideration and care.” ....
