The CATVs will be designed to replace vehicles called Small Unit Support Vehicles, which have been used since the early 1980s. They will be derived from ST Engineering s Bronco family of vehicles, which have been tested over 1,860 miles in arctic conditions and over 200,000 miles in desert terrain. Beowulf is an unarmored, tracked vehicle for carrying personnel and payloads in either of its two compartments. It has a modular design and can be reconfigured for multiple missions, such as logistical support, disaster and humanitarian relief, search and rescue, and other missions as required. Beowulf is based on the BvS10, which has already been produced, to include recent on time deliveries to Austria. Multiple variants of the vehicle are already operating in five countries, first going into service with the U.K. Royal Marines in 2005. ....
