The Park Rapids City Council on Jan. 12 authorized public works superintendent Scott Burlingame and city engineer Jon Olson to apply for a $1.25 million grant for street and stormwater improvements on Fair Avenue.
The grant, from the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s (MnDOT) Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP), is for local routes of regional significance. Olson said this could apply to Fair Ave. because it forms a connection between U.S. Hwy. 71 south and State Hwy. 34 west, and together with Industrial Park Road it serves the county fairgrounds, the city’s public works and public safety building, the school bus garage, Heritage ....
