The latest DOT Significant Rulemaking Report lacks a previously-included rulemaking regarding brokered-freight transparency. It also includes a new timeline for a speed limiter proposal.
FMCSA spoke up after "misstatements" about the large broker being "compelled" to provide rate transparency after a pitched battle with Florida hauler Dakota Springfields.
The FMCSA's latest rulemaking document said FMCSA will extend the schedule for greater transparency in brokered freight transactions until Oct. 31, 2024.
If the latest DOT calendar timelines holds true, owner-operators and other truckers will have to wait through October next year for new regulatory action.
