A book offers the opportunity to broaden one s horizons

The 38th Slovenian Book Fair was opened on Tuesday, 22 November at the festival hall of the Exhibition and Convention Centre. The fair will be held until 27 November, and until 4 December online. Under the slogan Reading the World, this year’s fair will be organised as a symbol of the upcoming honorary hosting of Slovenia at the largest book fair in the world in Frankfurt, where Slovenian literature and culture will be at the forefront next year.

STA: Slovenian Book Fair as prelude to Frankurt Book Fair

The Slovenian Book Fair will get under way on Monday, held in a hybrid format for the first time. Running until 27 November, it will feature 88 publishers and over 200 events, some of them dedicated to Slovenia's stint as the guest of honour at next year's Frankfurt Book Fair. Just like in Frankfurt, Spain is this year's guest country in Ljubljana.

STA: Poetry collection wins best debut award at Slovenian Book Fair

Pino Pograjc has won the award for best debut at the 38th Slovenian Book Fair for his poetry collection Trgetanje (Twitching). The collection expresses electrifying sensuality, exuberance, sometimes shudder, while never coming across as pathetic or self-pitting, the jury said on Monday. The award will be conferred on Thursday.
