tonight we celebrate. tomorrow we go back to work. dana bash is in manchester. christine romans is in the election center digging into who voted and why. peter ham by is in south carolina, the next stop in this grueling presidential primary. let s begin with dana there. romney s two for two. he won iowa, he won new hampshire. this victory wasn t a surprise, not to most. he was expected to win. it s the size of his win that s really grabbing attention, however. is it enough to get the party to finally rally behind him? reporter: well, fred, that s probably not going to happen immediately because as you mentioned, all of these other candidates are still in the race. effectively, look, this was no question a huge win for mitt romney. you said certainly he was expected to win here because he was governor of a neighboring state, but the size of his win in terms of the overall number, but also the kind of voter that he got, namely the conservative voters in this state. there
good morning. it is thursday, september 15th. this is your a.m. wake-up call. i m carol costello. get ready for the president response to president obama s jobs bill. he and the rest of congress have had a few days to leaf through the jobs plan, the obama jobs plan. so now we ll just have to wait and see whether boehner picks a fight over the plan or offers an olive branch. president obama is already taking indirect swipes at congressional republican. listen to what he told the congressional hispanic caucus last night. if we re being honest, we know the real problem isn t the members of congress in this room. it s the members of congress that put party before country because they believe the only way to resolve our differences is to wait 14 months until the next election. i have news for them. the american people don t have the luxury of waiting 14 months. 14 months from now as in november 2012. probably a topic that dominated dinner conversation between two republican
35-year-old sloan briles had taken his girlfriend and two sons from a previous marriage on a trip on theavilion queen. the boat had left the dock only a few minutes earlier when briles allegedly started arguing with his girlfriend. the 7-year-old boy was upset regarding the argument between his father and the father s girlfriend. the suspect struck his son several times. reporter: police say at one point the father told his son to be quiet or he ll throw him off the boat. when the boy didn t get quiet that s what he did, grabbed him and flung him overboard. the 7-year-old s swimming ability was only fair at the most. reporter: the boy was rescued by other boaters in the area. officials say briles was released from jail. we went to his home, but it didn t appear anyone was there. we spoke to neighbors. very combative. haven t talked with him one on one. i looked out the window one time and got some foul language just for looking to see where noise was coming from. reporter
