AC/DC To Release Gold Disc Editions Of American (Not Australian) Versions of Classic Albums

AC/DC will release nine Gold disc editions of their classic albums to mark the 50th anniversary of the first gig of the band in Australia but for some weird reason it is the US editions of the albums, not the Australia editions.

Original AC/DC Drummer Colin Burgess Dies

Colin Burgess, the original drummer for AC/DC has died at the age of 77. The band posted on social media: "Very sad to hear of the passing of Colin Burgess. He was our first drummer and a very respected musician. Happy memories, rock in peace Colin." Colin joined AC/DC in 1973 and played his first show with the band that New Year's Eve at Chequers nightclub in Sydney, Australia. At the time, the band was included Angus and Malcolm Young on guitars, Dave Evans on vocals and Larry Van Kriedt on bass. Burgess played on the original version of AC/DC's first single, "Can I Sit Next To You Girl", which featured George Young, brother of Angus and Malcolm, on bass. AC/DC fired him in 1974, claiming he was drunk on stage, Burgess said that someone spiked his drink. In 1988, Colin was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Hall Of Fame as a member of The Master Apprentices.
