The 2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Community Leaders Awards was broadcast Monday, January 18 at 9 a.m. on WTVR CBS 6. We’re excited to continue our 43rd annual MLK Community Leaders Celebration versus breakfast, Virginia Union University Dr. Hakim Lucas. I think that’s the biggest innovation an opportunity that usually it was a breakfast that 800 to 900 people came together, not only lift up the history of the legacy of the social justice movements across the Commonwealth, but also reconnect and to establish new friendships, relationships and network. Lucas said the event s goal remains true, amid changes because of the pandemic, to the founders and visionaries who created the Community Learning Week to inspire Virginians to build community in your home, in your local block, your subdivision, in your local residence, in your community and in the state and in this Commonwealth. ....
