It is with sadness that the Phillips, Spicer and Medwick families announce the passing of Helen (Elena) Emma Medwick. Helen was known as the gentle soul among her siblings.

Connie Grant

Connie Grant, age 85, passed away peacefully at Sister Leila Greco Apartments on July 4, 2021. She was born and raised in Fort William and attended Drew Street School and Fort William Vocational. Growing up and into her adulthood, she spent many summers at the family camp at Green Bay on Lake Superior. After completing high school, she continued her education at the McKellar General Hospital School of Nursing. Over the years, she worked as a nurse at McKellar Hospital and Grandview Lodge. Connie married James (Jim) Withenshaw Grant in 1962 and raised two children, Jim and Nancy. As a family, they spent many weekends fishing on Lac des Mille Lacs or at their camp at Crystal Lake. After retiring, Jim and Connie spent several years at Lake Agimac in Ignace, ON and often pulled their trailer to various locations in North America.

Pamela Jo-Anne Jacobson

Pamela Jo-Anne Jacobson, (nee Dagg), passed away peacefully at Lakehead Manor, Thunder Bay, Ontario on June 30, 2021. Born on November 2nd, 1943 in Montreal, Quebec, she moved with her parents and older brother to Holland, Manitoba in 1944. In 1949, she began her education in the school attended by her father, Walter Dagg and all her aunts and uncles. The family moved to Thunder Bay (Fort William), Ontario in 1951 and Jo-Anne attended Kingsway Park K-8, FWCI, and graduated from McKellar School of Nursing in 1965. She was employed at McKellar General Hospital and several nursing homes, and Lakehead Manor for twenty years until she retired at age 60. She was a faithful member of the Broadway United Church family. In earlier years, she attended Brownies and Girl Guides, achieving her Gold Cord.
