Rawalpindi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) will take out protest rallies across the country to express solidarity with the people of Palestine on Friday (May 21).
Addressing a press conference here, JI Punjab ameer, Dr. Tariq Saleem said the party had finalised the arrangements to observe Palestine Solidarity Day on Friday. The protest rallies will be held after Jumma prayers to be led by central, provincial and district leadership.
He said that JI central ameer, Sirajul will lead a rally in Islamabad starting from The Centaurus Mall, at 3 p.m.
JI Rawalpindi ameer Syed Arif Shirazi and other local leaders were also present on the occasion. ....

PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has urged the Muslim rulers to devise a bold strategy to help mitigate the miseries of the Palestinians.
He was talking to reporters after distributing Eid gifts among orphan children at the Aghosh home of Al-Khidmat Foundation here the other day.
The JI chief said that Israel was involved in ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian Muslims.
“Israel has been indiscriminately killing the Muslims of Palestine,” he said, urging the Muslim rulers to break their silence over the issue and call an urgent meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He said that steps should be taken to call a meeting of the United Nations where the issue of Palestine should be taken up in an effective manner. ....

Imran doesn't enjoy confidence of people: Sirajul Haq

RAWALPINDI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Saturday said though the prime minister had secured the vote of confidence from the National Assembly, he had largely lost the confidence of masses.
Addressing the party workers, he said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government multiplied the miseries of people in the first half of his tenure and the PM’s move to get the vote of confidence from the lower house was only a remedial attempt to put salve on the wounds inflicted on the PTI’s morale by the upset on the Islamabad Senate seat.
According to the law, he said, the prime minister did not require the practice. The government, he added, should adopt a serious attitude to address the basic problems of the country instead of indulging itself in unnecessary acts. He said the way the government coalition lost Senate election at Islamabad seat but the prime minister won the confidence of the treasury benches itself posed a ....
