Appeal for £150k to fix up 17th Century Merchant's House in Marlborough | The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald


It is once again open for business following lockdown and re-opened its doors on April 12.
The 17th century building needs work to the roof and windows.
The house has 18 rooms, three staircases, three basements and extensive attic space.
“The Merchant’s House is truly a community project and its website attracts visitors from further afield,” said the trust’s Charlie Usher.
“Covid-19 has dealt everyone a severe blow and curtailed all the things that were taken for granted.
“However, over the past year the trust has taken the opportunity to commission a report on the state of the building. This discovered that a great deal of work was required on the roof and many other aspects of the building. ....
