PETALING JAYA: MCA founder Tun Tan Cheng Lock was a selfless person who never expected anything in return when he dedicated himself to serving the people and nation, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
Tan always fought for the public, society and nation, above himself, added the MCA president.
“It was the love for the then Malayans and the nation that motivated him to give selflessly and make a difference to this country, ” he said during MCA’s commemoration of Tan’s 60th death anniversary at a special online ceremony streamed from Wisma MCA yesterday.
Dr Wee said while MCA is a Chinese-based political party, it did not undertake a uniracial approach, in line with Tan’s aspirations when he founded the party.
