Tequila brand Padre Azul has launched its first single barrel bottling, an extra añejo matured in ex-Bourbon casks for four years.
Padre Azul Single Barrel Tequila is packaged in a bespoke bottle
Padre Azul Single Barrel Tequila will launch across the US and Europe, and will be limited to 240 bottles in its first batch.
The Tequila is said to be ‘smooth and complex’ with flavours of cooked agave, peaches, apricots, cinnamon, caramel, chocolate and vanilla.
Bottled at 40% ABV, the Tequila has been packaged in a bespoke bottle created by Austrian designer and artist Andreas Palfinger and Hungarian designer and graffiti artist Balazs Pusztai. The design is based on the Mexican papel picado style and aims to pay homage to Mexican heritage.

As 2020 comes to a close, no other gift is better equipped to help you forget the year that was than a bottle of distilled agave.
Had this year been like just about any year before it, right about now at least for those of us who live north of the Mason-Dixon line many of us would be looking forward to the holidays ahead and then, shortly thereafter, embarking on a customary mid-winter escape to locations both balmy and tropical. Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, maybe even Brazil would be calling.
