The Investigating Directorate has seized assets totalling R46 million from former African National Congress (ANC) MP Vincent Smith. 
This includes property, wholly-owned company Euro Blitz and his family trust. 
Smith is implicated in corruption related to controversial facilities management company, Bosasa. 
The directorate’s spokesperson Sindi Twala says his daughter’s assets were also seized.  
“The restraint order granted to the National Director of Public Prosecutions under section 26 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act (POCA) extends not only to Smith’s property, and that of his family trust and his company Euro Blitz 48, but also to certain property of his daughter, Brumilda Smith, and the property of any other person or entity that received an affected gift under section 12 of POCA.”  ....

Former Bosasa chief operating officer Angelo Agrizzi, who was scheduled to appear before the Pretoria specialised commercial crimes court on Thursday, was a no-show in court, where he and his alleged co-conspirators face charges of fraud and corruption for fleecing the state of R1.8-billion through tenders awarded to the controversial firm. 
Agrizzi who is charged alongside his former associates Linda Mti, Patrick Gillingham and Andries van Tonder did not turn up due to medical reasons.  ....

Businessman Thoshan Panday s mother, his wife, sister and her husband, as well as his assistant, have been named as co-accused in his corruption case.
They face charges of fraud linked to the provision of accommodation and the purchase of goods for the police ahead of and during the 2010 World Cup.
On Monday, they were indicted in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Durban. 
Several relatives of controversial Durban businessman Thoshan Panday - including his wife and mother - have been added as co-accused in his corruption, fraud and racketeering case relating to a police tender worth millions.  ....

NPA undeterred by Mdluli’s mysterious illness in R69m fraud case
The unknown illness of convicted former South African Police Service (SAPS) crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli won’t deter the R69-million fraud and corruption case against him.
This was the assertion made by the state on Monday, as an ill Mdluli once again could not attend his court matter at the Pretoria commercial crimes court over the alleged four-year plundering of a secret SAPS intelligence fund.
Mdluli, former crime intelligence manager Heine Barnard, and former senior officer Solomon Lazarus face a combined 19 counts of corruption, fraud, contravention of the Prevention of Corrupt Activities Act, theft and defeating the ends of justice.  ....
