Slovenia Times
30. April, 2021
Ljubljana – The Economy Ministry supports the proposal from hotel operator representatives that the limit for the number of rooms that may be open in an individual establishment is not expressed in the absolute number of 30 units but as a percentage. It hopes it will get relevant approval from the expert advisory group next week.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday about the proposal from the Association of Hotel Operators, State Secretary Simon Zajc said that it “makes sense” and added that he was optimistic about the advisory group approving it next week.
This comes after the government permitted the opening of up to 30 rooms in accommodation facilities, regardless of their size, under the condition that guests produce a negative coronavirus test or a certificate of convalescence or vaccination. ....

Trade union unhappy with partial reopening of hospitality sector

Slovenia Times
16. April, 2021
Ljubljana – Although the hospitality sector has been eagerly awaiting at least a partial reopening, it is unhappy with the government’s decision to reopen only outdoor facilities in eight of Slovenia’s 12 regions with the best epidemiological situation. There, outdoor facilities will operate from 7am to 7pm for a week from Monday, 19 April.
The Trade Union of Hospitality and Tourism is worried about the businesses without outdoor gardens or terraces, urging reopening for the entire sector.
It notes in Thursday’s statement the industry has been closed since 19 October, which is causing greater damage than if they had worked by abiding to precautionary measures. ....
