Dorothy Tumulak, PRO-13 public information officer, told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) that the two suspects had gone into hiding for more than three years after the rape incident. In a statement on Sunday, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said the once rough road in the town of Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental is paved and will benefit the coconut farmers in two villages.
“Our coconut farmers from Barangay Silad and Barangay Mangga are now reaping the benefits of a newly-improved access road for the two barangays of Northern Mindanao known for its coco industry, copra drying, and oil milling facilities,” Villar said.
DPWH Regional Office 10 Director Zenaida Tan said that the improvement of the access road has an allocation of P15-million.
