Kindra Clark and Wyatt Voelker, seniors at Dakota Wesleyan University, were named the 2021 Ms. Wesleyan and Scotchman, the university’s highest honors, during the Honors Convocation Friday night.
The titles of Scotchman and Ms. Wesleyan are given to honor a senior male and female student based on campus leadership and service, community leadership and service, academics and character. The honor of Ms. Wesleyan began in 1929 and the honor of Scotchman began in 1939. The title for Scotchman was borrowed from the university’s song, “The Scotchman.” ....

Twelve Dakota Wesleyan University students are candidates for the Scotchman and Ms. Wesleyan awards, the highest honor given to students in their senior year at the university.
The titles of Scotchman and Ms. Wesleyan are given to recognize two seniors based on campus leadership, service, community leadership, academics and character. The honor of Miss Wesleyan began in 1929 and the Scotchman in 1939. The title for the Scotchman was borrowed from the university’s song, “The Scotchman.” Several notable alumni and four current DWU employees received this honor during their enrollment as students. ....

Wilmington College’s Greek letter organizations raise $8,000 for charitable causes

WILMINGTON Wilmington College’s Greek-letter organizations raised more than $8,000 in a recent fundraising drive that will benefit a host of non-profit organizations and WC families experiencing recent hardship.
Sigrid Solomon, vice president for student affairs and dean of students, congratulated the students for their leadership. “This is another example of how students are making a difference in their local community,” she said. “This exemplifies two of Wilmington College’s core values community and service.”
Several local organizations are among the recipients of the goodwill exhibited by five fraternities and six sororities. ....
