Background I am the FSA’s senior policy adviser for feed additives. The FSA was established in 2000 as the UK competent authority for food and feed. It was asked with maintaining safety of the food chain to protect consumers following such events as the UK BSE [ bovine spongiform encephalopathy] outbreak.
