Cleveland Cinematheque celebrating 35 years By Anne Nickoloff - cleveland.com Photo by Gus Chan, The Plain Dealer CLEVELAND, Ohio Three days of 35mm film screenings will mark the Cleveland Cinematheque’s 35th anniversary this August. The artsy movie theater, housed in the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Peter B. Lewis Theater, will celebrate Aug. 6-8 with showings of classic movies that the Cinematheque has never shown in its 35-year history. Over those 35 years, the Cleveland Cinematheque has shown more than 8,000 movies, according to a press release. It all started on Aug. 8, 1986 with a 35mm screening of 1971 movie “Interview,” directed by Mrinal Sen. ....
