PM Grants Status of Special Economic Zone to Siddiqsons Tin Plate
Prime Minister Imran Khan has granted the status of Special Economic Zone to the Siddiqsons Tin Plate, extending all tax incentives and exemptions to the “Siddiqsons Tin Plate Special Economic Zone” Hub Balochistan.
Sources familiar with the matter told Propakistani that the decision was taken in the last meeting of the Board of Approvals (BOA) constituted under section 5(1) of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Act 2012.
According to the Board of Investment (BOI), the BOI received the application from Balochistan SEZ Authority for the establishment of a sole enterprise SEZ, namely “Siddiqsons Tin Plate Special Economic Zone” Hub Balochistan. Resultantly, the application was examined by the SEZ Secretariat as per provisions of the SEZ Act 2012, rules and regulations framed thereunder.

The premier chaired the 7th meeting of Board of Approvals for Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
The board meeting okayed the launch of an online SEZ Management Information System.
The meeting was apprised that there were 19 SEZs notified in the country.

ISLAMABAD, Dec. 15 (Gwadar Pro) - Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that the industrial development was vital for economic growth and government was committed to providing ease-of-doing-business to investors while chairing the 7th meeting of Board of Approvals for Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
The Prime Minister said economic activities generated by SEZs would increase job opportunities for local skilled and un-skilled labor. He directed to provide utility services, including electricity and gas to SEZs on priority.
The Board approved SEZ Zone Enterprise Admission and Sale / Lease of Plot Regulations 2020. The meeting approved the launching of online SEZ Management Information System whereby the approvals process would be digitalized and streamlined.
