Doctors ‘hit the barrier’ on #Covid19 as those seeking support jumps 50%

The numbers coming forward seeking support from the Practitioner Health Matters Programme confidential support service to date in 2021 are up by 50 per cent, according to the Clinical Lead of the programme,
Dr Íde Delargy.
“We have a definite influx of people coming forward in the first six months of the year,” she told
Irish Medical Times.
Nevertheless, they had anticipated this would be the case as last year doctors continued during the pandemic with ‘heads down and shoulders to the wheel’ while some were now ‘hitting the barrier’. ....
