The Independent MASSILLON General contractor Eric Ray said the few thousand dollars he received for his business through the federal CARES Act has helped to keep the ball rolling during a tough COVID-19 pandemic year. Ray, 42, started his business, Ray s Reconditioning, about three years ago. He said he doesn t always receive a down payment from customers for many of his home remodeling projects. So the $5,000 business grant last year via the city of Massillon was a boost at the right time. Anything we could get was handy, he said. The money freed me up to get supplies to get the job done, and keep the ball rolling. ....
The Independent Last Christmas, Parris Hopson told her family she needed to clear her head and went for a walk. She never made it back to the Massillon home. Her family still doesn t know what happened to her. Massillon Police have exhausted all leads into their subsequent 12-month investigation. There has been nothing new to go on for months, according to Detective Jason Gohlike. Her family maintains hope that Hopson will be found safe, said Rockelle Arnold, Hopson s cousin.
