Dirleton Market on the Green was held on May 23, and was a big success. Image Mike Howarth A VILLAGE market raised more than £600 for charity. On May 23, 529 visitors went to the first Dirleton Market on the Green, which was to support Christian Aid. Raffle tickets, two quizzes and signed books by local author David Aston were all for sale, with a percentage of sales from the book being donated to the charity. A total of £608.50 was raised. Fifteen stalls were also present, from food and drink to several local businesses and groups. Organisers Anne Orr, from Dirleton Good Neighbours, and volunteers Shona Pickering and Kate Hamer thanked all of those who helped organise the market, those who donated raffle prizes and all of those who attended.
