Alyssa Valdez spearheaded the Cool Smashers anew with 16 points all from attacks to remain unscathed in four matches. Michele Gumabao chipped in nine points including four blocks and Jema Galanza fired six kills for eight points as versatile setter Jia Morado distributed the ball well to finish with 19 excellent sets on top of three points. Gorayeb faces tall order in PVL homecoming with revamped PLDT squad

Gorayeb, a cancer survivor, expects a tall order entering the PVL in molding the newcomers and veterans of the team, which transfered to the PVL from its stint in the Philippine Superliga (PSL). “Unang-una siyempre masaya… parang homecoming talaga (First of all, I’m happy… this is like a homecoming for me),” said Gorayeb during Wednesday’s episode of The Game on One Sports, Feb. 23, joined by former NCAA MVP Shola Alvarez. “There’s no place like home, diyan ako nagsimula. Diyan na rin siguro tayo magtatapos, sa PVL. Sana (There’s no place like home, that’s where I started. I think this is where it will end too, hopefully in the PVL).”
