A MASON HALL man was granted $20,000 bail after he appeared in court charged with drinking alcohol in a public place last Tuesday.
Glen Henry, 62, of Top Hill, Mason Hall, was arrested near Buccoo Public Cemetery allegedly with a cup in hand and a bottle of White Oak tucked in a white plastic bag.
Police said Shirvan Road officers were responding to a report around 1.05 pm of a large gathering near the cemetery after a funeral. Upon arriving they observed several vehicles parked along the roadway with more than 30 people on the road and walking out of the cemetery. ....

Seven people charged for breaking the curfew in Tobago appeared virtually before the Scarborough Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development recorded 25 new covid19 cases in Tobago – the island s highest total in 24 hours. Active cases on the island reached 94 – also a record.
The police on Tuesday revealed Tobago leads the country in arrests for breaching the 9pm to 5am curfew, as outlined in the state of emergency regulations. After two days, Tobago has had seven arrests, followed by the Northern Division (six), Western (three), North Eastern (one), Central (one) and Port of Spain (one). ....

Woman in distress dies at Buccoo bus shed
A Tobago woman died at a bus shed near Buccoo Junction, Shirvan Road, on Wednesday.
She has been identified as 39-year-old Dalia Cleopatra Jack.
An eyewitness, Wellington Phillips, who lives in the area, said he was dropping off some mangoes at a neighbour’s house around 4pm when he heard the woman crying and moaning.
“I realised she was having difficulty breathing and she was rolling on the ground,” he said.
Phillips said two other people were also trying to ease Jack’s discomfort.
He said she was offered water but did not drink it. ....
