Seventy-one public school superintendents in Connecticut make more than $200,000 per year in salary, with tax sheltered annuities and bonuses for doctorate degrees included. Salaries range from $150,000 to $315,000 for full-time superintendents and from $40,000 to $125,000 for part-time superintendents. Cromwell schools chief decries cut to proposed $33.1 million budget FacebookTwitterEmail 2of3 3of3 CROMWELL - The Board of Finance trimmed the Board of Education’s proposed budget increase by some $300,000 despite warnings from the superintendent of schools that the decision could lead to layoffs and reductions in school sports. The Finance Board acted after about 45 minutes of discussion and debate over the school board’s proposed $33.1 million budget. That proposal would have added $1.256 million to the current school budget, an increase of 3.95 percent. However, as the clock neared 11:15 p.m., the Finance Board voted 3-2 to reduce the proposal by $312,000 to $32.8 million, an increase of 2.97 percent. ....
