SHILLONG: Private carrier IndiGo will suspend its daily flights between Kolkata and Shillong for eight days, starting from Friday, airport officials said.
The reason for the suspension of operations by the airline was not cited but sources in the Shillong Airport authority on Thursday said the decision was taken in view of the Covid-19 situation. ....

Fulfilling a long pending demand, Meghalaya capital Shillong on Monday (21 December) was connected with the national capital by direct flight services, coinciding with reopening of the state through the Umling in Ri Bhoi district for tourists after remaining closed for nine months due to Covid-19 outbreak, officials said.
An Airport Authority of India (AAI) Press Release said that the flight services were inaugurated by Meghalaya Transport Minister S Dhar. Legislator G.B. Lyngdoh, Regional Executive Director of AAI M Suresh were present on the occasion. ....
