New program in Shiawassee County gives free meals to those in need while helping local businesses

SHIAWASSEE COUNTY, MI Community leaders throughout Shiawassee County have partnered to create a new program to help families and individuals in need while also supporting local businesses.
The Shiawassee Supporting Our Area Restaurants meal distribution program, or SOARs, led by the Shiawassee County YMCA, United Way of Genesee County, Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership, Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce and Greater Durand Area Chamber of Commerce, was created to distribute meals to individuals/households to those in need across the county and to support local restaurants.
