2nd victim dies in double shooting at Walmart in Whitehall, coroner says

A 22-year-old man who suffered gunshot wounds in a shooting outside a Walmart Supercenter more than a week ago has since died from his injuries, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said.
Authorities have identified the deceased as Jonathan Martinez of Allentown. Martinez was pronounced dead at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township. An autopsy is scheduled Monday to determine the cause of death while the manner has been ruled as a homicide by the coroner’s office.
Authorities say Edward Joel Rosario-Jimenez, 23, of Whitehall Township opened fire on Friday, Feb. 26 in the parking lot of the Walmart, 2601 MacArthur Road (Route 145) in Whitehall. Responding officers found two victims Martinez and 20-year-old Nicolette Law of Allentown shortly before 7 p.m. near a parked vehicle with the engine still running, authorities said.
A vigil for Nicolette Law, who was killed Friday in a shooting outside the Whitehall Township Walmart, drew friends, family members and others to remember her.

Law’s cause of death was due to gunfire and it was ruled a homicide, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said in identifying Law. A full autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
Nathaniel Law II of Georgia, Nicolette’s uncle and her mother’s brother, told lehighvalleylive.com Sunday he helped raise Nicolette since she was an infant.
She attended Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia, where she was a member of the school’s marching and competition bands, “The Georgia Bridgemen.” Nicolette has a passion for music and served as first-chair clarinet as a freshman.
