The local office of United Blood Services has challenged the Carson City Chamber to bring in 30 blood donors over the next two weeks beginning March 18 and ending March 30. To kick off the event, Mayor Robert Crowell, Sheriff Kenny Furlong, District Attorney Neil Rombardo and Fire Chief Stacey Giomi will be the first to give blood at 8:30 a.m.

CARSON CITY, Nev. – Merchants and residents who value the risky work of police and sheriff’s deputies can show their support in a new city program to shine blue lights as a beacon to officers and tribute to those who died in the line of duty, city officials said.
The featured speaker at Monday s Democratic luncheon will be Sheriff Kenny Furlong, the 26th Sheriff to serve Ormsby County/Carson City since 1861, and the 6th Sheriff of the Combined Municipality of the City/County of Carson City.
