John Train, of Overtoun Street, Clydebank, pounced on John Mills outside his ex partner s flat in Whiteinch on March 17 this year. The 43-year-old - a Northern Ireland veteran - today pleaded guilty to assaulting the victim to his injury. But Train was spared jail as a sheriff told him to grow up . Both men had been at the home of Train s former partner, who had been celebrating her 40th birthday. Mr Mills had stood outside the property, in Edzell Street. But, prosecutor Alasdair Knox told Glasgow Sheriff Court: “Train was agitated, shouting and screaming.

Knightswood crime: Man denies throwing bottle to start fire at parked car

A Knightswood man is accused of causing a fire by throwing a bottle of accelerant at cars. John Findlay, of Kingsway Court, allegedly threw the glass bottle at the vehicles belonging to William and Janice McVey in May last year. The 39-year-old is claimed to have caused danger to people who were near the blaze which was started on Kingsway on May 16, 2020. Findlay is claimed to have acted with an unknown person to culpably and recklessly start the fire. On the same date, he is also accused of striking the tyres of a car on Anniesland Road belonging to Janice Edwards.

Humble was later found to have a lump on his head which required no further medical treatment. Garvey McCardle, defending, told the court Humble is currently serving a community payback order for a domestic matter. The lawyer added that the former victim was a witness to the bottle attack.
