Nearly Half of Israelis Fear a Second Holocaust
There is a moderate-tohigh chance of the Jewish people facing another attempt to exterminate them in the future, according to 43 percent of Israelis. April 8, 2021 by Yossi Aloni
This survey was conducted in 2019, but the numbers are likely to have grown even higher today with rising antisemitism in the midst of the Corona pandemic, which a worrying number of people blame on Israel and the Jews.
Only 12 percent said that “never again” would the Jewish people face something like the Nazi Holocaust, to use the popular phrase bandied about by international leaders.
The survey was conducted by Shem Vener, an Israeli organization dedicated to lighting “a candle for every name” of those who perished in the Holocaust, among a representative sampling of 501 respondents, including 243 men and 258 women between the ages of 18 and 50.
